Sofkul Islam

CEO

As a fellow founding member of the Victorstone group, Sofkul brings more than 20 years of experience in the real estate and financial services sectors into his role as Chief Executive Officer.

Uninspired by the prospect of working for somebody else for his entire career, he always believed he would eventually become an entrepreneur. After cutting his teeth at several prestigious companies, including the Royal Bank of Scotland and The Angel Group Plc, Sofkul eventually used his knowledge and experience to co-establish a unique property consultancy that is renowned as one of the most forward-thinking companies of its type, not only in London but overseas.

With an impressive skill for creating and identifying business opportunities, Sofkul has been instrumental in driving our business forward. A naturally strategic thinker, he doesn’t let things happen – he makes things happen. And as a leader, he strives to inspire others; to motivate them towards achieving their own goals, which in turn can only yield wider benefits for the collective. He has an exceptional track record of building and developing world-class teams and has successfully built relationships and sourced investment opportunities for investors based in Hong Kong, Dubai, Riyadh and Doha developing win-win partnerships with proven longevity.

Sofkul has played a key part in helping Victorstone achieve global recognition for its work, including (but not limited to) accolades from the British Property Awards, the Guild of Property Professionals, and the Sunday Times Estate Agency of the Year Awards. Knowing that the real estate industry in the UK is at a crossroads – not least due to the pandemic, the resulting business landscape, and the rising influence of social media – he truly believes that embracing change and adapting the business accordingly is the only way forward.

Sofkul says:

“I am incredibly proud of the business we have built – particularly of the way our executive team has continued to invest in the development of our staff, and the international recognition this has brought us.

Outside of work, I’m very much a family man. I have a passion for Muay Thai (I train regularly) and I enjoy travelling and exploring new places. I also dedicate a lot of my time to charitable initiatives; I’m particularly proud of my work with Restless Beings on various projects worldwide.”
