Hammersmith
A commuter’s paradise with vibrant amenities and a historic feel.
This commercial centre packs a lot of action for residents seeking unrivalled convenience as well as tonnes of entertainment options.
It’s rare to come across a London borough that has so much to offer younger investors as well as older movers. But with its great schools, thriving businesses, safe reputation and, of course, its stunning properties, Hammersmith delivers on all fronts. Being less expensive than other West End boroughs, Hammersmith is also a popular choice for first-time buyers and those with children.
You’ll struggle to find a district with better inter-city connections. The A4 is close by, and Hammersmith is served by a number of tube stations, including Ravenscourt Park, Baron’s Court and a dedicated stop-off for the Kensington Olympia.
The properties in Hammersmith are as eclectic as the residents they represent. Professionals and those with young families often opt for one of the terraced period properties closer to the amenities; the private mansion blocks with their exclusive plots; or the large Georgian houses that line the Thames.
Younger movers (and those with more conservative requirements) are better suited to the flats and apartments that can be found dotted throughout the borough. There are plenty of interesting conversions here, so if you’re looking for a more unusual place to buy or rent, Hammersmith will not disappoint.
