Pimlico
Olde-worlde architecture adds a traditional edge to this great value neighbourhood.
London’s heritage is alive in well in Pimlico – but that’s not to say this riverside borough doesn’t boast fantastic modern-day facilities and amenities, too.
Often referred to as “London’s wallflower”, Pimlico isn’t as lively as some of the other parts of the West End – but what it lacks in world-famous attractions, it makes up for in sheer value.
Pimlico is a popular location for movers who want to take advantage of the relatively low property costs here. Travel into central London is possible within a matter of minutes, meaning that the place often appeals to young professionals who want city life right on their doorstep, plus the option to have a quick drink at their local on quieter days. There are lots of good local schools serving the area’s young families, too.
Pimlico is perhaps most famous for its Regency-era townhouses. However, many of these properties have been converted into smaller apartments to provide more flexible (and budget-friendly) accommodation. Elsewhere, you’ll find a smattering of newer builds, which are often for sale within a lower price bracket.
All in all, whatever you’re looking for in your new home, you’re bound to find it in Pimlico.
